The cable incorporates a USB to serial UART interface IC that handles all USB signaling and protocols, providing a straightforward connection solution. This cable allows devices with an RS485 interface to connect to a USB port efficiently. It features six output ports: GND (Black), Data- (Yellow), 5V Power (Red), Terminator 1 (Brown), Data+ (Orange), and Terminator 2 (Green), and includes a 120-ohm resistor between Terminator 1 and Terminator 2 for optimal performance.
The USB-RS485 cables are USB to RS485 levels serial converters. The cables include FTDI's FT232RL USB to serial UART interface IC device, which handles all the USB signalling, and protocols, plus an appropriate transceiver. The cable provides a fast, simple method to connect equipment with an RS485 interface to USB.
